Working Well

The Working Well Programme is a NHS Lanarkshire Healthy Working Lives Initiative to support NHS Lanarkshire staff working in PSSD and Medical Records with various aspects of their working and home life, including health, social issues and lifelong learning.

The service aims to improve the health and working life of a group of NHS Lanarkshire staff focusing on five key areas:

• Health Improvement
• Health Protection
• Rehabilitation
• Lifelong Learning
• Employability

A Case Manager will complete a comprehensive assessment; develop an action plan and co-ordinate treatment.  The assessment includes a range of pre programme measures that are repeated mid programme and/or on completion to evidence the client's progress.  The programme provides quick access to the following services where appropriate:

• Counselling
• Physiotherapy
• Bowen Therapy
• Occupational Therapy
• Leisure services for increased activity
• Life long learning opportunities

All treatments and interventions are arranged in local community venues whenever possible.

The Case Manager may also provide signposting to services for help and advice on issues such as employment, housing and debt. The Case Manager will look to source and provide information, help, support and signposting to services for any aspect of the client’s health or social circumstances which may be impacting on their lives.

To be eligible clients must be a NHS Lanarkshire staff member working in PSSD or Medical Records.

Staff may be referred to Working Well by self referral only, through the Healthy Working Lives advice line or the EASY project.

Working Well provides staff with access to several free, confidential services and aims to refer to services quickly thus helping to prevent further deterioration of health problems, to offer support  and raise awareness throughout.  The Case Manager liaises with a variety of services and relevant professionals to ensure effective outcomes.
