Healthy Working Lives (Lanarkshire)

The Healthy Working Lives (Lanarkshire) Service provides health interventions to people with mild-to-moderate health issues who are looking to return to work.  Health interventions can include:

  • Physiotherapy
  • Counselling
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Bowen Therapy.

Clients are referred to the service from agencies within Lanarkshire who are working with the client to help them secure:

  • Employment
  • further education
  • and/or training opportunities.

Acrossboth North and South Lanarkshire resources are targeted at thepopulation within prescribed ‘data zones’ i.e. where economicregeneration is deemed a priority.  The service is client-centred andclients are empowered to take an active role in their treatment.

A non-clinical case management process is employed to help the client’s health needs emerge. Once identified, the client elects to be referred to one of a range ofspecialist practitioners for treatment.  The aim is to get the client fitter‘for the job of finding a job’… and improve their functional capacityto enable them to meet the demands of the labour market.  This is apartnership between:
